Rachael & Sally have many years of personal mindfulness practice and have completed teacher training at Bangor University. Both currently teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction courses and adhere to the UK Network of Mindfulness-Based Teachers Good Practice Guidelines which includes regular supervision and on-going training. Rachael and Sally also attend personal retreats and are passionate about the subject of Mindfulness.

This retreat is not suitable for beginners.If you currently don't have meditation experience but would like to attend a silent weekend mindfulness retreat, please let us know here and we'll create a 'beginners meditation retreat' for you if there is sufficient interest.

This secular mindfulness meditation retreat is particularly suitable for:

  •  People who have attended a MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) course
  • People who have attended another mindfulness introductory course
  • More experienced meditators are also welcome.

In each of our retreats we lightly explore a particular theme which is pertinent to mindfulness. 

Arriving on the Friday between 4pm and 6.30pm, there will be a chance to meet and chat to fellow retreatants and enjoy a delicious evening meal together.  This will be followed by a welcome gathering. The silence will then begin and will continue until before lunch on Sunday, when silence will be broken.  You'll then have the chance to discuss your experience of silence and the retreat in general, facilitated by the retreat leaders.   These discussions can continue over the final shared lunch, after which the retreat ends.

During the period of silence, there will be a full schedule, including varied guided meditations; mindful movement; short talks that support practice and explore the retreat theme; free time for walking, reflecting etc. There will also be unguided meditation sessions and guidance will be given around the mindful use of free time.  Retreatants are asked to observe the silence, but retreat leaders will be speaking throughout the weekend in order to give instructions.

Meals and breaks are also in silence.  Guidance will be given on this.  The weekend is fully catered, with healthy, locally-sourced, vegetarian meals being provided. 

Accommodation is on site in shared , single-gender apartments of up to 5 people.  The apartments are very attractive and each has its own bathroom and kitchen facilities.  Beds include regular beds, sofa beds, pull-out beds and futons.  We will allocate you with your apartment and bed in advance .  Bedding and a bath towel will be provided.

Please note that unfortunately this venue is not suitable for wheelchair users.

The cost for the weekend includes accommodation, all vegan/vegetarian meals and all guided meditation sessions.
