Mindfulness Instructor Course

This assessed and certified Mindfulness Instructor Diploma gives you a formal qualification to demonstrate your competence in leading mindfulness meditation groups and/or using mindfulness practices in one-to-one work.

It is suitable for

  • people who have completed an 8 week mindfulness course and are looking to offer mindfulness sessions to others
  • people who have completed an 8 week mindfulness course and are looking to integrate their own mindfulness practice into their work with existing clients.

It has been designed to give you the tools you will need to become competent in using Mindfulness to help you and your present/future clients down the path toward greater relaxation, better self-care and enhanced well-being.

This course does not qualify participants to teach Mindfulness Based Applications such as MBSR/MBCT/MBRP.

It is designed for people with an existing client group who wish to explore the possibilities of weaving Mindfulness practices into their existing client work, for example, caring professionals,  prison officers, counsellors, therapists, mental health workers, acupuncturists etc. and also for people who are interested in developing their own mindfulness offering to the community.

The course comprises of two days of supervised training and 12 weeks home study.


COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants need to have completed an 8 week Mindfulness course, have a commitment to personal practice and have acceptable qualifications in their area of work; or be able to demonstrate that their accumulated knowledge and skills is equal to the above.

This course is accredited by the Complimentary Therapies Association course Ref: C1333 and has 10 CPD points.

Assessment for this Diploma occurs through:

1.      Two days supervised skills development practice

2.      Two Session plan outline (e.g housekeeping, scripts, running order, equipment list, homework, poems etc.)

3.      Delivery of 15 minute Mindfulness group session

4.      Reflective Learning Journal

5.      Record of 20 mins personal practice twice daily for 8 Weeks.

6.      Two book reviews

7.      Production of a recording of a guided meditation.
